options for imaging

Local Options

For anyone with insurance that covers most of the cost of things like x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds, the Olympic Medical Center is the most convenient option.  Unfortunately, for those of us with high deductible plans or no insurance, we have to pay for most of our testing out of pocket (even though we pay unfairly high premiums to the insurance companies for that coverage).  A more transparent and affordable option is InHealth Imaging.  They have several locations, their closest being Poulsbo.  While the drive may be less convenient, the service is very personal and professional.  The radiologist actually meets personally with most patients after their imaging study, and their prices cannot be beat (and are not hidden).  They negotiate lower prices with insurance AND they offer a 40% discount for anyone paying out of pocket!

For example, a typical 2-view chest x-ray locally would cost a little over $200 (and maybe less depending on your insurance plan).  The same x-ray at InHealth Imaging would be billed to your insurance at $104 and if you decided to pay out of pocket instead of using insurance, it would only cost $65!

A wonderful and affordable local option for imaging of a person's blood vessels is Pacific Vascular, located in both Port Angeles and Sequim. For anyone needing to see a vascular surgeon, this is the imaging facility that will likely be used.
